Random thoughts on the Internet …

I joined Vimeo. Finally. I should have done it ages ago. I always liked the high quality videos you could watch on their site. So, now every time I upload a video, it will show up on Facebook as well as I linked both accounts.

Its funny how interconnected all the networks and Internet is. Now, when i finish writing this post and click publish, it will appear on my tumblr. and Facebook profile. I also have Twitter, but I didn’t linked it with any of the mentioned accounts yet.

Also, I have YouTube account. Every time I click like or rate or comment or God knows what else, this “news” will appear on Facebook. Same with Vimeo. And Twitter. And millions of the pages out there, from newspapers to blogs and random websites. You can click “Like” button or “Share with friends” and link will be send to Facebook or other services or to your friend’s e-mails.  Its useful, but scary at the same time.

Lets discuss useful side. You can share stuff you like with your friends very easily. One click and done. You don’t have to copy and send links over the e-mails, Skype, MSN etc. Just one click and it will publish on your wall. Smart, quick and easy.

And the scary bit? What if someday Facebook, becomes paid one? Yeah, yeah … I know the discussion ”You can’t make it paid one as everyone will leave” etc. But if it happens, for example some premium accounts without adverts, more features etc will we be able to share stuff easily? Or more and more ads will be attached to our “likes” and comments? And important one: every time you like or share anything wia any social network, website, service (you name it), then you are creating profile about yourself. Very precise to be honest. You will get customised ads to increase their effectiveness ….

PS. I know all of the above has been written everywhere ages ago all over the place, but I am on my evening coffee and coffee tastes better when you write stuff :)
